The short version
AA Hotels MPD is a free browser extension that does arithmetic on a page you are already looking at. It is not made by American Airlines, the numbers it shows are estimates, and it comes with no warranty. Installing it means you accept what follows. If you would rather not, uninstall it; that is the whole of your obligation.
1. Who these terms are with
The extension is published by Bernot Software L.L.C. (“we”, “us”), an Arizona limited liability company. These terms cover the AA Hotels MPD browser extension and this page describing it. They do not cover any other software we publish, each of which carries its own.
2. What the extension is
AA Hotels MPD reads hotel prices and mileage earnings shown on AAdvantage Hotels pages in your browser, calculates the miles earned per dollar, and displays the result. It can also keep a history of the rates it has seen, in your browser, and export that history to a file. It is provided free of charge, with no subscription and no payment of any kind.
3. Not affiliated with American Airlines
This is an independent tool. American Airlines, AAdvantage, and AAdvantage Hotels are trademarks of American Airlines, Inc. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or in any way authorised by American Airlines or by the operator of the AAdvantage Hotels booking service. Those names are used here only to say what the extension works with.
Your use of the AAdvantage Hotels website, your AAdvantage membership, the miles you earn, and any booking you make are governed by American Airlines’ own terms and conditions and by the terms of the booking provider. Nothing here changes them, and nothing here is a statement on their behalf. You are responsible for using the extension in a way consistent with those terms.
4. The numbers are estimates
The extension calculates miles per dollar from the prices and earning figures a page displays at the moment you look at it. It does not have access to your account, your elite status, your promotions, or any rule that decides what actually posts. Rates change, pages change, promotions apply and expire, and a figure can be wrong because its inputs were.
Verify anything that matters before you book. Treat what the extension shows as a way to sort a list, not as a quotation. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of any figure it displays, and we are not responsible for a booking made, or not made, on the strength of one.
5. How you may use it
You may install and use the extension for your own personal, non-commercial travel planning. You agree not to:
- use it to send automated or high-volume traffic to AAdvantage Hotels, or to collect data from that site at a scale or for a purpose its own terms prohibit
- use it in any way that breaks the law, or that breaches your agreement with American Airlines or any booking provider
- represent a modified copy as the official extension, or distribute it in a way that implies we published or endorsed your version
- remove or obscure the attribution or notices in the extension
The extension does not bypass any paywall, authentication, or access control, and it must not be used in an attempt to.
6. Your data
Everything the extension stores stays in your browser, and we receive nothing. The details are in the privacy policy, which forms part of these terms. You remain responsible for the history kept on your device and for any file you export from it.
7. Availability and changes
The extension is distributed through the Chrome Web Store, and updates reach you through it. We may change what it does, or stop publishing it, at any time and without notice. It depends on the structure of a website we do not control, so a change on AAdvantage Hotels’ end may break it, possibly for a while; we fix what we can, when we can, and we do not promise that it will work at any given moment.
8. Intellectual property
The extension, its name, and its icons remain ours. The source code is published at github.com/bernot-dev/aa-hotels-mpd, and any use of that code is governed by the licence terms stated in that repository. Trademarks of third parties referred to here belong to their owners.
9. No warranty
The extension is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or compatible with any future version of Chrome or of AAdvantage Hotels.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Bernot Software L.L.C. is not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages, or for any lost miles, lost travel opportunity, missed promotion, booking cost, or other loss arising out of your use of, or inability to use, the extension. Because the extension is supplied free of charge, our total liability to you for any claim relating to it is limited to fifty United States dollars (US$50).
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or the limitation of certain damages. Where that is so, the exclusions and limitations above apply to the greatest extent permitted, and nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
11. Ending it
You may stop using the extension at any time by uninstalling it, which also removes its stored settings and local history from that browser. We may cease to publish or support it at any time. Sections 3, 4, 8, 9, 10, and 12 survive.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Arizona, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute arising from them is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts sitting in Coconino County, Arizona.
13. Changes to these terms
If these terms change, this page will be updated and the “last updated” date revised. Continuing to use the extension after that means you accept the revised terms. If you do not, uninstall it.
